Ana Zorrilla es Licenciada en Derecho por el ITAM, graduada con mención honorífica. Cuenta con una Maestría en Derecho y Gobierno por American University Washington College of Law, donde obtuvo el Premio Thomas O. Sargentich al mejor promedio de su generación y el Premio al Mejor Artículo de Investigación. Además, cursó un Certificado en Evaluación de Políticas y Programas Educativos en Georgetown University y es Doctora en Derecho, con mención honorífica, por el Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
Ha sido distinguida con diversas becas y reconocimientos, entre ellos el Premio de Investigación Ex ITAM, la Beca Fulbright-García Robles y el Premio Engrane 2024 en la categoría Mejor Artículo de Investigación, por la publicación “Challenges for Skills Creation in Legal Education: An Analysis of the Mexican Context in Line with Global Trends”, en coautoría con Marco Sánchez Arias.
En el ITAM, desde 2015 coordina la Clínica en Derecho y Política Pública y, desde 2019, el curso Cultura de la Legalidad. También ha sido coordinadora académica de la Maestría en Derechos Humanos y Garantías, ha impartido cursos en la Maestría en Políticas Públicas y ha participado en proyectos de investigación colaborativa. Previamente trabajó en la Comisión Nacional de Mejora Regulatoria, la Secretaría de Energía y el Instituto Nacional Electoral.
Su trabajo de investigación se centra en la educación y se desarrolla sobre tres ejes:
- El estudio del servicio educativo desde las perspectivas del diseño regulatorio y los derechos humanos.
- La enseñanza del derecho, con énfasis en técnicas pedagógicas innovadoras que favorezcan el desarrollo de habilidades y la motivación de cada estudiante.
- La formación ética, orientada a que las personas reconozcan su papel como agentes de transformación social.
Ana Zorrilla holds a Law degree from ITAM, where she graduated with honors. She earned an LL.M. in Law and Government from American University Washington College of Law, where she received the Thomas O. Sargentich Award for the highest GPA in her class and the Best Research Paper Award. She also completed a Certificate in Education Policy and Program Evaluation at Georgetown University and holds a Ph.D. in Law, with honors, from the Institute of Legal Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
She has been recognized with several scholarships and awards, including the Ex ITAM Research Award, the Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship, and the 2024 Engrane Award in the category Best Research Article for the publication “Challenges for Skills Creation in Legal Education: An Analysis of the Mexican Context in Line with Global Trends”, co-authored with Marco Sánchez Arias.
At ITAM, since 2015 she has coordinated the Law and Public Policy Clinic and, since 2019, the course on Culture of Lawfulness. She has also served as Academic Coordinator of the LL.M. in Human Rights, taught courses in the Master’s in Public Policy, and participated in collaborative research projects. Previously, she worked at the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement, the Ministry of Energy, and the National Electoral Institute.
Her research focuses on education and is structured around three main areas:
- The study of educational services from the perspectives of regulatory design and human rights.
- Legal education, with an emphasis on innovative pedagogical techniques that foster skills development and student motivation.
- Ethical formation, aimed at enabling individuals to recognize their role as agents of social transformation.
