In this paper, the social sciences state and geographical evolution are recognized through the deconcentrating process of the members of the National System of Researchers in Mexico. The questions that are pursued to be answered and that serve as analysis dimensions are: Which are the researcher´s geographical distribution in the country? How are they distributed by gender and academic level? How is the composition of the National System of Researchers by level in each area? Are there, if any, changes in the disciplinary composition of this area of knowledge?
