According to the calendar, the Fall 2020 semester will conclude online on December 2, and no academic activities can be scheduled after this date. The final exam period will be from December 7 to 19, according to the calendar published by Registrar's Office. Each professor will designate the method and platform that he considers appropriate for the application of the final exam, which will be online in all cases, always in accordance with the rules established in Chapter II of the ITAM Student Regulations.
In consideration of the exceptional circumstances we are living, the application of the last paragraph of Article 27 of the Student Regulations is suspended this semester, which provides that “the end-of-year exam must be passed so that the other criteria of evaluation". Likewise, it has been established that this semester, the NA will not be taken into account for the purposes of breaches of the regulations (articles 39 and 39 Bis.), and that the subjects withdrawn will not be counted for the purposes of the withdrawal limit (article 37).
In other topics, we have established a mechanism for those students who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, in order to help them not to lose their courses and evaluations. In case of being in this situation, please contact Registrar's Office as soon as possible at rosario.carpio@itam.mx.
For any matter related to the Raúl Baillères Jr. Library, you can consult the website biblioteca.itam.mx or contact the email biblioteca@itam.mx.
Likewise, we inform that our psychological and emotional support services, as well as the service through the Origen-ITAM line, will remain operating during the holiday period.
Unfortunately, by order of the authorities, none of the end-of-semester social events and activities can be carried out in person. However, ITAM will support student representations so that, once possible, they can carry out the special events that have always characterized our Institution to celebrate the culmination of university studies.
After the holiday period, the administrative offices will resume activities remotely on January 4. The re-enrollment process for undergraduate degrees will take place on January 5 and 6, and the semester will begin online on January 11, 2021. Likewise, master's degrees will keep the course start dates established in their calendars: January 6 the modular ones and January 11 the semester ones.
ITAM will maintain its scholarship and financial aid policy for all students who need it and, for the renewal of financial aid in the Spring 2021 semester, the average requirements will not be taken into account.
Tuition for bachelor's and master's degrees will not have an increase in the Spring 2021 semester.
ITAM will adhere to what the competent authorities indicate regarding dates and protocols for reincorporation to face-to-face activities. For now, we envision two scenarios, without a defined date, that will mark the return to activities on campus: at first, we consider that we will be able to provide services in the library and laboratories with limited capacity and without face-to-face classes; the second moment, the return to face-to-face activities, will occur when adequate sanitary conditions exist and the authorities allow it. Given that for now the above are only scenarios that may be subject to considerations beyond our control, prior to deciding to return to face-to-face classes, there will be an official notice from the Institution with a minimum of 30 calendar days in advance, in which dates and applicable sanitary protocols will be detailed.
We appreciate your attention to this information and we will continue to share with you any updates relevant to our long-awaited return to campus. Keep a healthy distance, take care of yourself and your families. Each of you is very important in our community.
ITAM. Together we reinvent the future.
