Antes de sus estudios Andreas Wachtel trabajo nueve años en la compañía Siemens en Alemania, Mexico y EE.UU.
Entre 2007 y 2012 hizo una licenciatura y maestría en Matemáticas aplicadas en la universidad técnica de Dresden (Alemania).
Después, se fue a hacer su doctorado en matemáticas aplicadas a la universidad de Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK), el cual termino en Diciembre 2015.
En 2016 fue programador en la "Student Loans Company" en Inglaterra y desde Agosto hasta Diciembre dio clases de matemáticas en el Colegio alemán Alexander von Humboldt (en México).
Desde Enero 2017 es profesor en el ITAM en el Departamento Académico de Matemáticas.
A partir de Enero 2018, será miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (con nivel I).
Prior to his studies, Andreas Wachtel worked for nine years for the German company Siemens in Germany, México and the USA.
He started his Bachelor degree in 2007, and finished his Masters degree in applied mathematics in 2012 at the Technical university of Dresden (Germany).
Then, he went on to do his PhD in applied mathematics at the University of Strathclyde (located in Glasgow, UK).
In December 2015 he finished this project, and found a temporary job as a programmer at the Student Loans Company in England.
After that, between August and December 2016, he was a maths teacher in the Colegio alemán Alexander von Humboldt (in México).
Since January 2017, he is a professor for applied mathematics at the ITAM in the Departamento Académico de Matemáticas.
And as of, January 2018 he will be member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (Level I).
